QLD BIM leaders – have your say on the implementation of BIM in the QLD Public Sector.
The QLD Government understands the benefits of BIM in the design, construction and ongoing maintenance of buildings and infrastructure. To this end, they have created a draft policy for discussion so that they can best incorporate BIM into future works.
The proposal outlines their goal to incorporate BIM deliverables as part of any major vertical building works (hospitals and schools fro example) as well as horizontal (roads and railways) infrastructure.
The draft document can be downloaded from here: https://haveyoursay.dilgp.qld.gov.au/bim Calls for formal responses have been made and closes on 21st April 2017.
Anyone who has a stake in the future use of BIM in QLD government projects is invited to submit comments on any aspect of the proposal. It should also be noted that the BrisBIM committee has indicated that interested parties can submit feedback to them and that this aggregated response will be submitted to the QLD government on their behalf. If you wish to participate in this option then you are invited to provide feedback via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 24th March 2017.
